Amagerbanken at a glanceAmagerbanken is an independent financial institution. It was established in 1903 as a local bank on the island of Amager. In 1981, we ”crossed the bridge” and opened branches in Copenhagen proper. Amagerbanken has developed into a full-service regional bank with activities placing the Bank squarely among the 10 major banks in Denmark. Today, we have 25 branches: 12 on Amager, 11 in Greater Copenhagen, one in Århus and one in Odense. The foundation of the Bank is our 550 employees, close on 52,000 shareholders and 120,000 customers. An alternative to the big banksAmagerbanken is the alternative to the big banks, size being one of our strengths. We are big enough to be at the forefront in terms of products and technology, but not so big as to become impersonal. With our size and flat organisational structure, we can adapt quickly to the changing needs of our customers for individual advice and personal service. Our decision-making competency locally enables us to decide all major issues promptly for the benefit of our customers. Full-service banking and business partnershipsThe Bank provides all forms of banking services and is a full-service bank for both corporate and retail customers. Our collaboration with different players in mortgage credit, investment and insurance enables us to offer our customers a broad, flexible and highly competitive range of services that provide our customers with real options. Banking services for the corporate sectorCorporate banking services are one of our major business areas, with 80% of our lending activities being provided to corporate customers. We cover a broad section of local businesses and cooperate with a wide circle of business enterprises – from small retailers to large corporations. Over the years, we have built up competencies relating to change of ownership and succession, real estate, trade, services, logistics and innovative enterprises as well as commercial lease arrangements. Specialist in securities and international transactionsCustomised asset management, custody services and international transactions constitute an essential part of our activities. The Bank specialises in these areas and provides wholesale banking and services to other banks. The best of both worldsWe have an attractive pricing policy providing retail customers with fee-free daily banking services. Personal contact ranks high on our priority list, and our netbank and other self-service solutions are not alternatives, but a supplement to our personal advisory services, enabling our customers to enjoy the best of both worlds. Balancing the interest of stakeholdersWe attach importance to traditional shareholder values while respecting the Bank’s other stakeholders. Attainment of our short- and long-term financial goals depends on our ability to balance the interests and expectations of shareholders, customers, employees and society as a whole regarding the Bank’s development. Striking the right balance will be key to prosperous banking business. |
